Car Costs Down

Posted May 12th, 2014 @ 2:06am

(KFYI News) Michelle Donati of AAA says their annual report shows the cost is down for the first time in four years.

She says while there are some things are out of a driver's control, such as the price of fuel and insurance, there are ways to keep a lid on costs, such as regular maintenance, maintaining a clean driving record and doing your homework before buying a car.  She says lower gas prices on average, this past year, is one reason for the reduced cost of car ownership.

She also qualifies that maintenance costs have gone up slightly because people are holding on to their cars longer and older cars usually require more repairs
