(KFYI News) The re-trial of the penalty phase of the Jodi Arias murder trial has been postponed a few weeks.
Arias, who's now acting as her own lawyer, had asked for the postponement in order to talk to potential witnesses to help her prepare her case.
Judge Sherry Stephens granted to motion. Instead of jury selection beginning the first week in September, it'll now begin the last week in September.
Arias was convicted last year in the brutal murder of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in his Mesa home in 2008. But jurors couldn't decide whether to sentence her to death, or life in prison. So a re-trial was ordered to determine her punishment.
