(Orlando, FL) -- Not as many of us are planning to travel for Thanksgiving this year. Triple-A projects just over 43 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the holiday weekend -- that's a one and a-half percent drop from the 44 million who traveled last year.

The slightly lower projection comes despite cheaper gas. AAA says drivers will pay the cheapest gas prices for the Thanksgiving holiday since 2010. Many folks around the U.S. can find gas for less than three dollars a gallon.

If you plan to hit the road Wednesday, you'll have plenty of company. That will be the busiest travel day with 37 percent of Americans leaving for trips that day.
