AZ Ranks Near Bottom for Working Moms

Arizona is one of the worst places in the nation to be a working mother, according to a new report.

The National Partnership for Women and Families published a report called "Expecting Better" where they compared the protections for working parents in each state, giving them grades from A to F.

Only three federal laws exist to protect working parents, The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, The Family and Medical Leave Act and some new provisions under the 2010 Health Care law that expand breastfeeding protections.

The report says Arizona, along with 16 other states have not passed any additional protections, giving the Grand Canyon State a failing grade.
