(Washington, DC)  --  Legal Colorado pot businesses could soon be able to deal with banks freely.

New regulations are expected to be announced soon by the Obama administration.

United States Attorney General Eric Holder says it's become a public safety issue with businesses having to hang on to huge amounts of cash.  Marijuana is still illegal under federal law, which created a gray area for banks.

Holder talked about the plans yesterday at the University of Virginia.
