(Washington, DC)  --  The House of Representatives is planning to reinstate death benefits to families of American troops even though the federal government remains partially shutdown.

Family members usually receive a $100,000 death benefit payment within days of a service member's death, but they've been on hold.

To bypass standard procedures that would require the bill to go through committees, it would need a two-thirds majority to pass.  It's expected to have unanimous support.
