(Beloit, WI) -- Forget Black Friday, a new survey shows most people plan to buy a new TV in the days leading up to the Super Bowl.

Results from FatWallet.com's TV Buyer Survey show that almost a third of respondents who said they'll purchase a new TV this year will likely get it during Super Bowl sales.

That's compared to 25-percent who said they'll do their TV shopping on Black Friday. More than half of those surveyed said they'll spend less than $500 on a TV.

Eighty-percent of TV buyers will look for a model that has 1080p resolution. Samsung is the most popular brand with 33-percent of respondents choosing it over Sony, LG and Vizio.
