(24/7 News) January is National Financial Wellness Month and certified financial planner Gregg Mursette says this is a perfect time to talk to kids about money.

He says people also need to set the right example and not just give money to kids which, according to Mursette, just sets them up for disappointment and failure.

Mursette is also a vocal opponent of the piggy bank. He says it's an antiquated way to get kids to save money, when we only confuse them in a world that uses plastic cards and online banking. He actually supports teens using debit cards when they're old enough and responsible enough to manage them.

Mursette says we need to smash all piggy banks and throw them away.
