John Allen has been sentenced to death. A jury returned that verdict late Thursday afternoon after previously convicting him of first-degree murder in the death of Ame Deal. Allen and his wife locked the 10-year-old girl in a small storage box as punishment for stealing a Popsicle. The child suffocated to death after they went to bed. Samantha Allen has already been sentenced to death for her role in the murder. In addition, several family members were convicted of abusing the child and serving prison sentences.
