Phoenix, AZ - A Phoenix woman is accused of giving her eight-year-old methadone and cough medicine. Police say that on Saturday Serina Hernandez gave her daughter a bottle cap of methadone with the medicine, causing the girl to sleep for an entire day without eating. Officers responded to the home near 12th Street and Indian School when the mother found the daughter not breathing, blue in the face, and foaming at the mouth. The girl is on life support at the Phoenix Children's Hospital, while Hernandez faces child abuse charges.
