Record Flu Levels Causing Long ER Wait Times

Health officials say record-level flu activity in the valley is causing long wait times at some hospitals.  

There have been nearly eight-thousand confirmed flu cases in Arizona so far this flu season.  Nearly one-third of those cases occurred in the last week of December.  

Large numbers of patients have flocked to emergency rooms across Phoenix this week.  The Arizona Department of Health Services advised people to seek care only if they have an underlying medical condition or severe symptoms.
