Scottsdale Unified School District CFO Resigns

The Scottsdale Unified School District's chief financial officer, Laura Smith, resigned Friday afternoon.  In a letter to the District Superintendent, Smith said she made an innocent mistake on a conflict of interest form and also mistakenly signed two change orders that benefited the company where she was a co-owner before having her interest bought out when she became CFO.  She said her actions were not sinister nor dishonest, but doesn't want the District to spend resources that could be going towards students.
