Legislation Would Create Dependent Exemption

Two bills working their way through the Arizona House would give a tax break to families. The legislation would create a tax credit for dependents and increase the tax exemption for dependents.

House bill 2459 would establish a tax credit of $250 per dependent, including dependent elderly and dependent disabled.

House bill 2264 would increase tax exemptions for dependents by $50 to $2,350 per dependent in the 2019 tax year.  It would go up another 50 dollars the following year.
