Scottsdale Schools Name Acting Superintendent

(Scottsdale, AZ)  --  The Scottsdale Unified School District has a new acting superintendent.  The board named Amy Fuller as acting Superintendent after ten hours behind closed doors in executive session.  Denise Birdwell remains on administrative leave, pending the results of investigations into possibly illegally awarded construction contracts.  The board also voted to stop renovation work at two elementary schools until the investigation is over.  The Arizona Attorney General's Office filed a lawsuit last week alleging the district illegally awarded construction contracts for renovation work at two schools.
