Bill Aims To Dismantle Board Of Regents

Arizona lawmakers are considering a bill that would change how the state's three universities are managed.

Representative Mark Finchem's bill would dismantle the Arizona Board of Regents.  The bill would do away with the ten-member Board of Regents appointed by the governor and replace it with a board of elected officials.

Finchem says the regents have stepped outside of their authority and into policy making that should be left to state officials.
