AZ Frozen Embryo Ownership Bill Goes To Governor

A bill in Arizona that would dictate who owns frozen embryos when a couple divorces is heading to the governor.

The measure approved on a party-line vote by the Republican-controlled House this week states the embryos would be given to the person who promises to allow them to be born.

The bill would overrule any contract made by the couple when they first decided to have the embryos frozen.

The legislation would only take effect in divorce cases and would not affect married couples.
