Basketball Referee's Racist Remark Leads To Firing

The Arizona Interscholastic Association has fired a Tucson basketball official who reportedly made a racist remark prior to a game.  The Arizona Daily Star is reporting the referee asked Pueblo High School's freshman coach if his players had their green cards just before tip-off.

The remark was reported on Wednesday and the official was immediately fired.  The referee reportedly told the association his remarks were an attempt at humor directed toward the coach.

The reported statement violated the officials' code of ethics.
