Double Standard For Apologies

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard was called out for her past anti-LGBTQ remarks after announcing her run in the Democratic primary for President in 2020.

Mark my words--she will now officially been given a pass and all will be forgiven and forgotten.

When Democrats do this it is swept under the rug and not addressed within the party again. If a political opponent tries to use this against Gabbard she can say she apologized and that we have all moved on from it and she has been reformed.

When Republicans do this it is taken merely as a half-hearted apology that can be used against that person anytime anywhere and for any purpose. These people are not considered reformed nor have they learned anything from trying to make amends.

The hypocrisy of the Left will rage on but just know that even if she is sincere and apologizes for her past remarks, (which several other Democrats were against gay marriage and said anti-LGBTQ remarks and have never been held accountable for them), she will move forward and most likely seem more electable for getting through this unscathed.

I feel bad for the Democrats trying to figure out which person they will pick to lose to Donald Trump in 2020.
