Mountainside Fitness Fined In Scottsdale For Staying Open

It took less than a day.

ABC 15 says the Scottsdale Police have cited Mountainside Fitness for remaining open after Lord Gov. Doug Ducey signed an executive order shutting down gyms for 30 days. Mountainside Fitness CEO's Tom Hatten said yesterday he was legally challenging the Governor's order. Hatten says they have abided by all the government regulations after they were allowed to reopen after the first shutdown. Yesterday, he added there is no evidence suggesting COVID19 is spreading in gyms across the Valley.

The company could be fined up to $2,500 for the violation.

It's also worth nothing the Karen Police Department (Scottsdale Police) stood by while millions of dollars of good were looted from the Fashion Square Mall.

According to 12 News, Scottsdale Cops showed up at a Mountainside location at 9:45AM and told them to close because of the Governor's order. They returned hours later to issue the citation after seeing it was still open for fitness.

The push back has been met with legal push back and now we are witnessing a good old American power struggle. Here's what Hatten had to say.

Will freedom win or will government power win? Stay tuned.
