PHX Lands On List With Worse Traffic Congestion

Research on the worst traffic hotspots is released and Phoenix is landing on the dubious list.  Phoenix comes in as the 15th-most traffic congested city in the nation, according to transportation analytics company, INRIX.  

The study reports Phoenix has over 3,400 traffic hotspots, with the worst being westbound I-10 from 59th Avenue to 32nd Street.  The research also looking into the economic cost to drivers from wasted time, fuel and emissions due to the congestion.  

It estimates traffic congestion will cost Phoenix $9.5 billion by 2026.  Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, Atlanta and Dallas are the top five for the worst traffic hotspots.
