Board Of Regents Files Motion To Dismiss Lawsuit

The Arizona Board of Regents wants a judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the Arizona Attorney General's Office.  The lawsuit filed in September claims the board is violating the state constitution by illegally increasing in-state tuition and mandatory fees by more than 300-percent.

The lawsuit also addresses the board's decision to offer in-state tuition to DACA recipients.

The board argues that Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich doesn't have the authority to file the lawsuit.

The board, which oversees ASU, UofA and NAU, also defended the rising cost of higher education.
