Phoenix Police Union Warns Of Officer Shortage

Phoenix's police union says the department is facing an officer shortage crisis.  In the last decade the city's population has grown but the department hasn't.

Ken Crane, President of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, blames the six-year hiring freeze for sending the force into a spiral.  He says new hiring is not keeping up with the number of officers leaving.

Crane adds property crimes are rising and response times are slowing.
