School Funding Ballot Initiative Proposed

(Phoenix, AZ)  A group of teachers, parents, and education advocates says they're tired of waiting for the governor and legislature to come up with a concrete plan to put more money into education. The group wants to put education funding in the hands of Arizona voters.  They delivered the "Invest in Education Act" to the Secretary of State's office today, and hope to get it on the November ballot.  They need to gather a little more than 150,000 signatures to make that happen.

Individuals making more than half a million would see their tax rate increase by 4.46 percent.
