This Is (Black) America. WARNING! Graphic Violence

The Twitter machine blew up this weekend with folks reacting to Donald Glover's new music video for "This is America," released under the name of his musical alter ego, Childish Gambino.

What's with all the names?

The video follows Childish in constant motion as he walks/runs/shoots/dances through and participates in scenes of violence with images of chaos juxtaposed by sequences of the singer dancing in more happy scenes.

Okay Glover is anti-gun but his commentary is confusing. Instead of singing this is America, shouldn't the rapper be singng, this is Black America?  In each one of our Democratically run major metropolitan areas, black on black crime is America. Or was the point of Donald Glover / Childish Gambino video?
