The investigation into the deadly crash involving a self-driving Uber is being turned over to the Yavapai County Attorney's Office over a possible conflict of interest. The crash that killed a pedestrian in Tempe last March was being investigated by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. The potential conflict of interest stems back to a partnership between the county attorney's office and Uber in 2016. The "Save Lives, Don't DUI" campaign encouraged people who had been drinking to use the ride-hailing service.
