FBI Agent Who Accidentally Fired Gun While Dancing Turns Himself In

The FBI agent who dropped his gun while doing a backflip while dancing at a Colorado bar and accidentally shot another patron in the leg turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday. 29-year-old Chase Bishop was arrested by police following the incident at Mile High Spirits Distillery and Tasting Bar on June 2nd but was released into the custody of his supervisor. Bishop has not been formally charged but is facing one count of second-degree assault.

Mile High Spirits Distillery and Tasting Bar released a statement following the shooting saying they hope to "understand his presence and his need to be armed in our establishment,"

"We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred and look forward to speaking with representatives of the FBI, so we can come to understand his presence and his need to be armed in our establishment," it said.

The bar added that the man who was shot will be given "complimentary drinks forever."

The FBI office in Denver declined to comment about the on-going investigation.
