A 92-year-old Valley woman charged with first degree murder. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says Anna Mae Blessing shot and killed her 72-year-old son because she believed he was going to place her in assisted living. The shooting happened at their Fountain Hills home near Palisades and Saguaro boulevards yesterday morning. Police say Blessing approached her son armed with two pistols concealed in her bathrobe. They began arguing over his treatment of her and she shot him. Then she's accused of pointing the weapons at his girlfriend who was able to wrestle both firearms away from Blessing and run to safety. She faces first degree murder charges, kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.
