(Maricopa, AZ) -- The stench of dead fish is hanging over one Valley community. Thousands of dead fish have washed up in community ponds in the Rancho El Dorado subdivision in Maricopa. During summer months oxygen is depleted from water according to Arizona Fish and Game and that can lead to large fish kills. Aeration systems typically keep the water oxygenated, but the community HOA says the aerator broke down and they are working to fix the problem.
