Up to 400 protesters have demonstrated in the city of Tijuana on the US-Mexico border against the arrival of thousands of migrants from Central America. In Tijuana, where migrants can officially apply for asylum in the US, demonstraters called the migrant caravan an invasion of their country.

Riot police were deployed to contain the protests. The newcomers say they will be on their way as soon as they get asylum in the US. But protesters fear that could mean Mexico will have to support the migrants for months.
