(Phoenix, AZ) Fifty-five Arizona school districts and charter schools will soon get new buses -- paid for with money from the Volkswagen settlement. The governor's office has approved the purchase of 142 diesel and alternative fuel school buses, at a price tag of almost 16-million dollars. More money will be allocated in the near future. In 2016, the Justice Department sued Volkswagen for modifying its cars to cheat emissions tests. Arizona has earmarked 38-million dollars of its share for school buses.
