CNN’s Chris Cuomo Gets Into Shouting Match, Threatens Man

CNN's Chris Cuomo got into a heated confrontation with a heckler who called him "Fredo" at a Long Island bar. The unidentified man reportedly approached Cuomo, who was with his family, and asked if he could take a photo.

Cuomo was not happy that the man referred to him as "Fredo," which Cuomo took as an insult. The man claims he thought Cuomo's real name was Fredo, but the CNN anchor wasn't buying it.

"No, punk-ass b****es from the right call me 'Fredo.' My name is Chris Cuomo. I'm an anchor on CNN," Cuomo responded. "'Fredo' was from 'The Godfather.' He was a weak brother and they use that as an Italian slur — are any of you Italian? It's a f***ing insult to your people. It's an insult to your f***ing people. It's like the N-word for us. Is that a cool f***ing thing?"

The two men continued to argue and Cuomo called the man a liar for claiming he believed Cuomo's real name was Fredo.

"You're gonna have a f***ing problem," Cuomo said.

"What, what you gonna do about it?" the man asked.

"I'll f***ing ruin your s**t," Cuomo replied. "I'll f***ing throw you down these stairs like a f***ing punk."

"Please do," the man told him.

"So you can f***ing sue?" Cuomo asked. "Then take a swing at me... You wanna call me 'Fredo,' take a f***ing swing... I'm f***ing right here. I'll f***ing wreck your s**t."

A group of people separated the two men before the situation escalated further.

After the incident, CNN issued a statement supporting Cuomo, who is currently on vacation.

"Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup. We completely support him."

President Donald Trump retweeted the video and took a shot at Cuomo as well.

"I thought Chris was Fredo also. The truth hurts. Totally lost it! Low ratings @CNN," Trump wrote.
