Woman Takes Selfie Hanging Over Cruise Ship Railing, Gets Lifetime Ban

A daring woman earned herself a lifetime ban from Royal Caribbean cruise ships after she climbed over the railing on the balcony of her stateroom to take a selfie. Another passenger watched in shock as the unidentified woman tried to take the dangerous photo.

Peter Blosic immediately contacted the crew and was concerned that she might be trying to jump into the water. He also snapped a photo of the woman and shared it on Facebook.

"While on my balcony, I saw the woman climb on her railing. It happened so quickly. Not knowing what her intentions were, I alerted the crew. If I said nothing, and she was going to jump, that would be horrible," Blosic told CNN.

The crew managed to locate the woman, and she was removed from the ship when it docked in Jamaica.

"Earlier this week on the Allure of the Seas, a guest was observed recklessly and dangerously posing for a photo by standing on her stateroom balcony railing with the help of her companion," Royal Caribbean said in a statement. "Security was notified, and the guests were later debarked in Falmouth, Jamaica, as a result of their actions and are now banned for life from sailing with Royal Caribbean."
