Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a celebration of the end of slavery in the United States.
Usually there are festivities around the country & around the valley to commemorate this day in American history.
As the coronavirus cases continue to rise to Phoenix & country, many Juneteenth events have been canceled, but some continue on. Please be aware of events mandates such as wearing masks, social distancing, etc.

When it reopens... visit the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center located in the Historic Warehouse District in Downtown Phoenix. The mission is to "explore the roles of African derived Americans in shaping the history of Phoenix and the state of Arizona."
