Goodbye Glendale, hello Taylor Swift!
The City of Glendale will temporarily change its name to honor the Grammy Award-winning artist as she kicks off her highly anticipated "The Eras Tour" at State Farm Stadium next week, FOX 10 reports.
The temporary change will go into effect March 17 and 18, the day of Swift's scheduled concerts in Glendale. Mayor Jerry Weiers is expected to officially announce the new name on Monday (March 13), but the city issued the following statement in the meantime:
There is no need to calm down, we're fearless and doing something highly unusual to celebrate the fact that Taylor’s concerts start right here! We know all too well that she’s one of the most influential artists of her generation and we are writing our own love story for her and greeting every Swiftie in style!
Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" has dates scheduled across North America through August.
