Senator John McCain says he now believes an investigation into Russian meddling in the U.S. election should be done by a select committee. The Arizona Republican said the American people now know Congress no longer has the credibility to investigate Russian meddling. McCain said actions by the House Intelligence Committee warrants a select committee. He said there is a tremendous chasm between the 2 senior members of the committee, California Republican Devin Nunes and California Democrat Adam Schiff.
He was baffled that Nunes briefed President Trump with information that members of the Trump transition team were under surveillance after November's election without telling members of the committee first.
Schiff called the meeting deeply troubling.
