The Teachers Vote to Strike Next Week

Noah Karvelis and Joe Thomas from Arizona Educators Untied spoke in front of a group of supporters and media to announce that Arizona teachers have voted in favor for a strike.

78% of faculty voted to walkout of school’s Thursday April 27th if their demands to the Governor and Legislature are not met. Arizona Educators Untied plan on holding walk ins on Monday, Tuesday , and Wednesday next week before the strike begins.

Joe Thomas said he wanted to meet face to face with the Governor to work out a deal with teachers. Thomas was question by a reporter on why would Gov. Doug Ducey meet with him after Thomas endorsed the Governor’s political opponent. Thomas said that he is still Governor and needs to do his job or “ I know what will happen to him in November.”
