Sen. Kamala Harris asked President Trump's nominee to run Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Ronald Vitiello if he is aware of the perception of the agency. She asked Vitello is he was "aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws? And do you see any parallels?" with ICE and the KKK.
Vitello said "I do not see a parallel between what is constitutionally mandated as it relates to enforcing the law." and fought back multiple items to the insinuation of that comparison.
Harris took it to the next level by challenging his qualifications to run ICE if he isn't aware of how the agency is perceived. ."Sir, how can you be the head of an agency and be unaware of how your agency is perceived by certain communities?"
