In 1997 Mary Rose Wilcox was a member of the County board of Supervisors who voted for and approved the baseball stadium that is the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Larry Naman went into the board of supervisors and shot Mary Rose Wilcox for her part in the Diamondbacks stadium. He was against tax dollars being spent for the Diamondbacks stadium
Naman was sentenced to 15 years and he served 12 of them before he was released. All of this was forgotten by most of the public until last night .
Naman signed up to speak out at a Phoenix City Council meeting against the use of tax dollars to renovate the Suns arena. Naman brought up the 1997 incident and he spoke just minutes after Mary Rose Wilcox addressed the city council.
