Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says State Of America Is 'Garbage'

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared at the South by Southwest music, film and technology convention in Austin, Texas over the weekend to slam capitalism and preach the virtues of her "Green New Deal"

During an hour-long interview in front of a live audience with The Intercept's political editor Briahna Gray, AOC explained how capitalism is a flawed system and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) needs to be abolished.

AOC warned that capitalist America is putting "profits over everything else in our society" and our system is "irredeemable." She said this in front of a room filled with highly paid tech industry executives.

"Capitalism is an ideology of capital - the most important thing is the concentration of capital and to seek and maximize profit...so to me capitalism is irredeemable."

She also continues her attack on ICE.

“I don’t think that an agency that repeatedly and systematically violates human rights can be reformed…I think it needs to be abolished"

At last she made her viral comment calling the state of the US as "garbage"

“I think all of these things sound radical compared to where we are,”she concluded,“but where we are is not a good thing. And this idea of like, 10 percent better than garbage, it shouldn’t be what we settle for.”
