The Real Numbers On Arizona Teach Pay

The numbers don't lie. Arizona public school teachers are making well above the minimum wage is every district in the state. The minimum wage in $10.50 per hour. The living wage in Arizona is calculated at a little over $11.00 per hour. The vast majority of Arizona teachers are making in excess of $19.00 per hour. In the Phoenix Union High School District teachers make in excess of $30.00 per hour. Most people want to make sure that teachers are paid fairly and that they have what they need to teach our kids. But we should also drop the rhetoric and acknowledge that Governor Ducey and the Arizona Legislature kept their promise to teachers and got them the raises that they deserved.
