Seattle Police Chief Says There Will Be a Mass Exodus Of Law Enforcement

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best believes there will be a mass exodus of law enforcement due to the lack of support her officers are recieving from local city leaders. There is already somewhat of an exodus taking place, Seattle is facing a record number of resignations from local law enforcement.

Chief Best said, “We need them to stand up for the work that the officers…have been doing in this organization,” she said at the time. “We’re losing good people, and we know its because they feel like they aren’t supported by public officials.”

One Seattle Officer believes that Criminals are more empowered now than the people that protect their city. While other officers are blaming biased media and local politics.

Seattle City Councilmember Lorena Gonzalez brushed off most comments by saying just a small percentage of current Law Enforcement felt that way although 72 officers have recently left the department.
