California Governor signs anti cop law

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) signed a law reversing a requirement for any able bodied person over the age of 18 to assist law enforcement when requested to make an arrest. The timing of this is either intentional to send a message to cops or it is completely blind to the horrible message it sends.

We take for granted the idea that cops will put themselves in harms way to protect us no matter what the odds are against them. I don't know of many people who wouldn't help a cop if they were in danger. But signing this law at a time when verbal and physical attacks against cops are on the rise across the country is a very poor decision. Cops in New York, South Bend and many cities in America feel unsupported by government leadership. This law proves it on paper. Gavin Newsom should be ashamed of himself.
