What I Will Remember About 9/11

Although its been eighteen years since 9/11 in some ways to many of us it feels like it just happened. Spending four hours on the air listening to and talking about what happened that day and the aftermath I went through many emotions. From pure sadness and tears, to anger and rage, to triumph and patriotism. When I reflect personally I will remember a couple of things. Americans were united. The entire Congress stood on the Capitol steps and sang God Bless America. No separation of church and state. No partisan rhetoric. American flew the flag again. They expressed their love for this great country. Secondly, we returned to our faith. We were scared and confused. We felt vulnerable in a way we'd never felt. So we flocked back to churches. People of all faiths and denominations. Churches opened their doors all week for people to pray. So even though people aren't going to church in the large numbers anymore and we now have athletes protesting by kneeling during the National Anthem, when we are in a crisis we turn to what matters most. God and Country. I still believe we are that nation and those people. This video is one of my favorite memories of those days. I pray it doesn't take another tragedy to get us back there. It is my sincere prayer that we NEVER FORGET and that God will continue to bless America.
