Phoenix Mayor Weighs in on AZ Supreme Court Decision On Brush and Nib

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego disagreed with the State Supreme Court decision in favor of a small business who refused to make invitations for a same sex wedding based on religious belief. Oddly enough she quoted Dr. Martin Luther King in her comments. Dr. King was very anti gay and very vocal about it. The Supreme Court was 100% correct. The First Amendment protects religious freedom. If they lose future business because of this, so be it. But the government can not step in here. Should a Muslim caterer be forced to make pork? Should a pro-choice caterer be forced to cook for a pro-life fundraiser? There is a huge difference between cooking a meal in a restaurant and catering a wedding. Just like there is a huge difference between selling invitations off of the shelf and creating invitations for the wedding. One last question, why would this couple want to work with a vendor that doesn't want to work with them?
