I have the honor of speaking at or being the emcee for a multitude of military and veterans events. It is truly the best part of my job. I started this relationship after my brother was KIA in Iraq on memorial day of 2003. What I've learned about the men and women that serve is that they are as humble as they are selfless. Doing heroic things for God and country on a daily basis and returning home and asking nothing for it. Most of them never tell anyone of the things they've done. It is because of that humility and selflessness that I committed to doing anything and everything I can to support them. It is also why I hesitated to talk about the honor that the Army Military Police Regimental Association gave me. The commendation is called "Friend of the Regiment". Believe me, this is something that I don't think I've earned or deserve. But having it awarded to me by the men and women that I admire most is truly the honor of a lifetime. So on Veterans Day, I wanted to share it with you because I think it shows how selfless they truly are. On a night set aside for them to honor soldiers that have gone above and beyond for their fellow soldiers, they thought of someone else. I am humbled beyond measure and will never forget that night.
