The Biden Administration won't call the surge of migrants showing up at the United States border a crisis. This despite there being a climate crisis, a health care crisis, an economic crisis, and an equity crisis across the country.
Instead, they are calling the surge of migrants and unaccompanied minors at the border, 'a challenge.'
So what are they doing to handle the 'challenge' of their own making? Not much. Watch as the White House Southern Border Coordinator Roberta Jacobson says the migrants are coming here because of hope. Huh?
The Biden Administration has twice said to migrants, 'don't come now, come later.'
On his first day on the job, President Biden signed an executive order ending funding for the border wall. Clearly, that was a signal to thousands of people that the United States is back open. Migrants and unaccompanied minors had stopped showing up under the Trump Administration because he took a hardline stance. The Trump administration made asylum seekers wait in Mexico while their claims were being processed. Additionally, he worked with several Central American companies to keep people in their home countries.
Something Jacobson says the Biden Administration is going to do as they intend to ask Congress for more money.
So, you are paying whether migrants come here or stay there.
