Not to rain on the parade, but this new House Bill of repeal/replace on health insurance still needs to pass the Senate, and still needs a Congressional Budget Office score, because we still don't know how much this "round 2 bill" will cost. I believe it's a better bill overall, and with a Senate markup can be better still. That said, what continues to be indigenous to this new bill is the initial premise from Obamacare--that is, the federal government remaining in the business of purchasing health care insurance. When will market forces and competition be given a chance to work? Market forces and competition will keep prices down for all. Maybe in the Senate, lawmakers will see the light.
So, warning to Republicans: don't take too many victory laps right now.
