Privatizing Air Traffic Control

One of the aims with privatizing the air traffic control is to graduate it from a land-based radar system to a more precise GPS-based system, saving time for passengers, reducing costs and fuel consumption, which, in turn, can bring down the price of oil. Power problems, IT glitches, delays, outdated reservation systems, and angry passengers--airlines are up against it!  Will privatizing air traffic control be a welcomed salve for air travel?
