It's a match made in Heaven.
The nation's oldest brewery, Yuengling, is teaming up with Hershey's Chocolate to make a chocolate porter. This will be Hershey's first foray into brewing. The Hershey's Chocolate Porter will also be Yuengling's first collaboration in their 190-year history. Both companies are based in Pennsylvania about 50 miles apart. Hershey's was founded in 1894. Yuengling opened as The Eagle Brewery in 1829 before changing their name to D.G. Yuengling & Son in 1873.
There is one problem. This beer will not be available for us in Arizona. However, Yuengling does distribute to 22 states. So, maybe if you are traveling for the Holidays you might be able to sample a glass or two. The special release beer is expected to remain in bars until February.
It sounds delicious.
Jen Yuengling, VP of operations at Yuengling, tells the USA TODAY, "As we continue to innovate and evolve, we are particularly excited for our first beer collaboration to be with an iconic, Pennsylvania-based brand that shares the same values as we do."
The Yuengling Hershey's Chocolate Porter checks in at 4.7% ABV.
The Brewmance does love Christmas gifts in case you are wondering. Cheers.
