We all know that the “Dirty T” is the portal to hell. All politically bad things begin there. It is a simple basic truth. So, it is no surprise that what we are seeing in our schools in the Valley started in Tucson.
From false claims about discipline disparity – made by Eric Holder during the Obama administration at the behest of Raul Grijalva and his other radical operators who control the Tucson Unified School District – to La Raza Studies as the anecdote to cure the systemic racism, Tucson has been the font from which all dissent, division, distraction, and deception derives.
In little over a decade, the number of white children enrolled in suburban public-school systems in the country’s largest metros declined by 1.4 million, a drop of 20 percent, with the result that white students are no longer the majority.
Through the late 1980s, white children accounted for at least 70 percent of Chandler Unified’s total enrollment. By October 2020, that figure was down to 49.9 percent, or 53.7 percent if you believe the latest numbers from the Arizona Department of Education -- and you shouldn't.
People like Chandler school board member Lindsey Love say that the changing demographics form the basis of opposition to Critical Race Theory and the “Equity” her district promotes. That “equity” costs a bundle.
According to the Arizona Daily Independent, The cost of Chandler’s “Deep Equity” professional development training, developed by Gary Howard, is nearly as astronomical as the public’s concerns with the program. In response to an inquiry by the Arizona Daily Independent about the costs, Chandler Unified’s spokesperson, Terry Locke, advised in an email:
We had staff review and come up with these subtotals and total:
§$23,995 for Family Engagement/District Leaders and future site visits ( 6 days) from Scholastic
§$259,608- Corwin last year
§$1615.39-Corwin additional YES books
§$38,920.89- Corwin YES books and training days last year
§$66,000- Corwin 2nd year training
§$28,017- Corwin YES year 2
§Total: $418,156.28
“Places like Chandler were historically constructed to allow white people to amass value in their homes and move up the ladder through their schools,” said R. L’Heureux Lewis-McCoy, a sociology professor at New York University and the author of Inequality in the Promised Land: Race, Resources, and Suburban Schooling.
This, argues Love and others, make white people afraid – so they lash out. Only problem is – one of the parents who was most vocal about her opposition is Asian. We had her on the show. And earlier this month, we had on a ;Latina from Litchfield who is none too happy with Critical Race Theory.
In fact, if you think opposition to Critical Race Theory has anything to do with race, let me introduce myself: I am James T. Harris (American of African descent) – ringmaster of the Conservative Circus and I am opposed to Critical Race Theory.
Lindsey claims that the need for “equity” is based on uneven disciplined. She claims teachers discipline black children more than white children. How is that our children’s problem. The kids aren’t racist, but you better check your teachers! The ones from the union that love, love, love them some Lindsey Love.
If critical race theory is to be defeated in our schools, there are three things parents must do:
1) GET INVOLVED! This means attending school board meetings and even running for the board itself. Go armed with questions. Is it being taught in you school. Demand to see the curriculum.
2) CONTACT the governor’s office and your state legislators and senators. (Info provided below.) Let them know what you think and feel about critical race theory and demand that laws be passed to ban teaching critical race theory.
3) ASK YOUR CHILD every single day, “What did you learn in school today.” Read their material and get involved in their learning.
